My Space area  

Once you enter the emagiC CMS.Net administration interface (and select your community), the My Space area appears in the content frame.  The My Space area gives a brief overview of the community.
Following information is covered in the My Space area:

1. Site info, with direct links to the Task lists, Language matrix, Statistics and Cache clearing.
2. Datapart info, with a direct link to the Task lists.
3. Message box, with direct links to the Inbox and Outbox.
4. My account, with a direct link to edit your personal administrator profile.
5. License info.

Messaging Center 

The Messaging center in the management tree let you send messages to other administrators of the website(s) defined in the emagiC CMS.Net administration interface.  Messages can also be sent to all administrators of a given role (i.e. a group of administrators with similar access rights).
With the messaging center you can:

1. view your inbox (i.e. received messages) and order the messages by priority, read/unread, from, subject, date & time, flagged/unflagged
2. view your outbox (i.e. sent messages) and order the messages by priority, to, subject, date & time, flagged/unflagged
3. send new messages to administrators and/or roles

Email notification 

With the emagiC CMS.Net email notification feature, you can:

1. notify administrators of pending tasks
   emagiC CMS.Net can send periodically an email notification to the administrators with an overview of pending tasks.
   The email will contain following information:
• The number of pages that have been locked by the administrator
• The number of pages that must be approved/published or modified by the administrator
• The number of dataparts that have been locked by the administrator
• The number of dataparts that must be approved/published or modified by the administrator
• The number of unread messages in the administrators inbox
  
  
2. send login credentials to extranet/intranet users
   When creating a new user or when modifying user data, emagiC CMS.Net can send an email to the user with his new login credentials (username & password).

Domain shortcuts 

A domain shortcut is a user-friendly shortcut name that can be used in the url to redirect to a given emagiC CMS.Net page.  A domain shortcut is always linked to a given domain.

Example
In the emagiC CMS.Net administration interface, the domain http://www.mycompany.com/ has been defined with a domain shortcut name News.  The shortcut name News points to the news page of the website.
Hence, to access the news page of the website, the user-friendly url www.myCompany.com/News can be used.

Captcha integration 

CAPTCHA stands for "completely automated public Turing test to tell computers and humans apart". What it means is, a program that can tell humans from machines using some type of generated test. A test most people can easily pass but a computer program cannot. You've probably encountered such tests when signing up for an online email or forum account. The form might include an image of distorted text which you are required to type into a text field.

The idea is to prevent spammers from using web bots to automatically post form data in order to create email accounts (for sending spam) or to submit feedback comments or guestbook entries containing spam messages. The text in the image is usually distorted to prevent the use of OCR (optical character reader) software to defeat the process.

User management

The User management has been extended with two additional features:

1. Mass import/export of intranet/extranet users.
2. When creating a new user or when modifying user data, emagiC CMS.Net can send an email to the user with his new login credentials (username & password).  See also Email notification.

XData/XForms module

The XData and XForms modules have been extended with following additional features:

1. The XForms/XData selection control now can be configured to not only display a list of items but also a list of subcategories of the chosen categories.
2. XForms/XData items now can be copied and pasted into another category.
3. SEARCH functionality within XData items and categories (simplified search and full text search).
4. SEARCH functionality within XForms items and categories (simplified search).

Miscellaneous

1. emagiC CMS.Net now also runs under specific ports.
2. New page type "Internal redirect".
3. Define dimensions (width & height) of the popup window when creating popup links in the wysiwyg editor.
4. When defining a link in the wysiwyg editor, you now can also add a REL value.

Bug fixes

1. Form Generator: buttons appear out of screen when using large listitems.
2. RSS feed: when choosing an XData category for which you only defined the settings (without specifying any data), then the RSS feed returned nothing.
3. (Wysiwyg editor: title, rel, target values are lost when inserting a new link.
4. Wysiwyg editor: in some conditions, the copy/paste of links resulted in links with prefix "system/".
5. (XData: impossible to switch between languages in category edit mode.
6. (v 6.0 SP2) XMLFeed: impossible to override xmlfeed properties through code.
7. (v 6.0 SP2) Wysiwyg editor: error when adding custom script blocks for multiple languages.
8. (v 6.0 SP2) Language matrix: in some cases, the publish action generated error -999.
9. (v 6.0 SP2) Administration interface: paste/cascading paste option in sitemap tree not enabled on some occasions.
10. (v 6.0 SP2) XForms/XData: when an error occurs during the convertion to xhtml of the wysiwyg editor content, the error is now returned to the user instead of saving the error in the xml instance.  This has been modified for XForms & XData.
11. (v 6.0 SP1) Using the link href="/" in your pages gave problems in the administration interface because the administration runs under a different url.  Hence, as of SP1, this link will always be disabled in the administration interface.
12. (v 6.0 SP1) Invalid postback or callback argument when creating relations between items.
13. (v 6.0 SP1) Styles and headers now can also be used for the spacer of the Form Generator.  These styles/headers must be defined in the stylesheet of the module/moduleskin.
14. (v 6.0 SP1) XData:  when moving to another language, a javascript message was shown even when no data was changed.
15. (v 6.0 SP1) XData:  internal server error when pasting an image when no image was selected.
16. (v 6.0 SP1) Delete of a contentskin returned error -999.
17. (v 6.0 SP1) Delete of a domain returned error -999.
18. (v 6.0 SP1) In the document gallery & image gallery, special characters were encoded in the breadcrumb, titles, descriptions, ...
19. (v 6.0 SP1) When modifying the setup of a page, the webparts were removed when the region control they belong to was a child control of another control in a pageskin or contentskin.
20. (v 6.0 SP1) In the wysiwyg editor, as of SP1, the tables do not have by default a white grid color anymore.  This has been removed because the grid color is not displayed correctly in FireFox and Mozilla.
